Barnum B. Brown

Barnum Brown*

Barnum B. Brown--On the 12th day of February, 1873 at Carbondale, Kansas, Barnum B. Brown was born.
His childhood and youth were spent on the farm in true farmer fashion. Being a young man of modest and thoughtful disposition, he spent his time largely in study, and that especially in the natural sciences.
He entered the University in 1893, and his record testifies to his ability. He has spent his summer vacations since '92, doing field work in geology and paleontology.
During the last two summers Mr. Brown has been in the employ of the American Museum of New York City. He has completed the Arts course of the University, and has begun work in his chosen profession, that of paleontologist, by going to work in its Jurassic field.
