Lifeology
March 2006

Evolution is all around us. From camouflage to cytosine, evolution is the unifying process for the study of life. Participants delved into evolution through hands-on activities and demonstrations in our galleries, extracting DNA, investigating bones, excavating fossils and more as they explored the fascinating world of evolutionary biology. Key principles included geological time, camouflage, shared characteristics and diversity.

The ‘Putting Together the Pieces’ gallery trail profiled adaptations of plants and animals on display, and posters featuring major evolutionary ideas were posted throughout the museum.

This event also featured the new Explore Evolution exhibition and provided the opportunity to meet some of the scientists and students who work at the museum.
