Electrical power pole tree
Peregrine falcom (Flaco peregrinus)
Recovered

The ubiquitous utility pole transects neighborhoods and open fields, climbs hills and descends into valleys. based on the common mid-19th century telegraph pole, today utility poles are made from a variety of materials, including steel.

Nearly exterminated by pesticides in the mid-20th century, the Peregrine falcon is a conservation success story. the discontinuance of DDT and habitat expansion into urban environments enabled this medium-sized falcon to make a comeback. Peregrines only hunt birds and cities afford an abundance of prey, such as pigeons and starlings. It was taken off the Federal Endangered Species list in 1999.
